Let’s just go ahead and give Avatar some animation love because the season finale is today! One of the few reasons to plug in the cable to watch television.

Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, creators of Avatar the Last Airbender and Legend of Korra, have tumblrs guys!

How’d we miss these two Tees in our big Mighty Fine post from yesterday? We guess some questions are better left unanswered…

The Mighty Fine Adventure Time shop.

They’re beautiful.

Snow Golem & Fire Wolf Pup

Jennifer at Handmade Stuffs is up to her Adventure Time crafting tricks again, this time for an exceptional Snow Golem and Fire Wolf. She writes on her Flickr page:

These two were made as a custom order. The Snow Golem and Fire Wolf pup are from the Adventure Time episode “Thank You”. The Snow Golem stands about 22” tall and he has jointed arms. The branch decoration is removable and features shiny sequin “berries”. The pup is about 9” tall (not including ears) when standing. He has little “cracks” in his black fur showing his fiery orange insides.

Great (handmade) stuff, as usual, Jennifer.

This animated short turned out even better than I imagined when I first saw the trailer that John posted just over a year ago (and I had high hopes!) It is a lovingly crafted celebration of the power of books to enhance our lives, heal our wounds, and simply delight us over and over. Bravo!

The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore (by Moonbot Studios)

Remember a few months ago, when I was telling everyone to go buy this in iTunes for like, the $1.99 that it was? Well, here it is you bums, you freeloading jerks. When you’re done, and you’ve stopped crying, go look at some of its concept art

You do not understand how much I love this short. You don’t, and you can’t. I don’t know what it is, but I want to tattoo this entire film on my face.

The other “making of” videos can be seen here. If you haven’t already, you need to buy it on iTunes, homie. It’s only like $2 and it’s perfect & inspiring and I suddenly want to be an animator and it’s just so cute, shit!

I mean just browse the Art gallery and tell me you don’t want to just sketch things. I dare you.

*Oh, also. If you have an iPad, there’s this interactive storybook app that seems fantastic. Further increasing my undying desire for a stupid, pointless iPad.

Now that Halloween’s over…
…. let’s get ready for Christmas.

Oh, Beemo. Stop being perfect.
