Been getting some requests to do a step-by-step of my drawing process. So, here’s a gif showing the general process of a creature comic I did.
It doesn’t show the actual brushes and layers and such, but I go into that a bit with my ‘Ben Draws’ videos. The actual brushes vary from situation to situation though, and are mostly personal taste, so I just suggest experimenting until you find something you like.

Ahh, neat!

Well, this is gorgeous.

I sincerely suggest you read the aforelinked article, and that you watch the corresponding video (here) because, obviously you love Batman (even The Joker loves Batman, some would say he loves Batman the most) and probably you love architecture & design (you have eyes). If you guessed that that what I’m typing about here brings these two things together in a big, beautiful way, I’d begrudgingly say “you’re right!” because I hate other people being right.

Either way, “Batman: Death by Design,” and all of the little tidbits of information and storyboarding have given my eyes the most powerful, raging erections (eyerections) they’ve had in a very long time.  I am so emotionally attatched to all of these ideas and words and images that I almost didn’t want to make sure you saw them, but if you haven’t already seen anything relating to it, I’d be doing you a disservice by keeping it to myself. And, you know, the rest of the internet who has already seen it.

tl;dr: Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

I keep forgetting to watch this season of “Bored to Death.”
Zach Galifianakis as a comic-book artist. Come on.
And all the actual illustrations in the show are done by the super phunky phresh artist Dean Haspiel.

As someone who has a large portion of artist friends, I’ve had the privilege of having people draw me, often. Whether it be doodles, or portrait-projets or whathaveyou, but today was something else.
My internet friend, Juan and I met today at Comic-Con. Hung out for most of the day, and did not act like people who had just met. Like everyone I met in real life this weekend who I hadn’t: Insta-friends.
Then, he told me to draw him something, so I took forever on a Punisher doodle (thank you, conveniently placed comics) and in what felt like less than 5 minutes, he made the most accurate depiction of me, ever. I don’t think it needs to be said, but European Juan is the coolness.
